Tengadak is a freshwater
native of Borneo. It is considered to be amongst the top 5 most
expensive fish in Malaysia. Its price reflects its slow growing nature
and relative rarity. It is a sweet tasting, flaky white fleshed fish
more suited to the fish connoisseur due to it possessing many tiny bones
(much like another sought-after local fish, the Terubok).
This specimen was gifted by my
neighbour, who I'm told, sourced it from Sibu.
Thank you, Ah Tee. |
