The Hanbury Street area in Spitalfields

29, Hanbury Street was where the second of the 5 canonical murders (the Whitechapel murders) which are ascribed to Jack the Ripper was committed in 1888.

The number 29 marks the spot where the now demolished dwelling once stood. The Truman Brewery now occupies the area.

29 Hanbury Street in the 1967 film "The London Nobody Knows" by Norman Cohen.

The brickwork of houses along Wilkes street nearby is similar to that of the period.
